Saturday, August 26, 2017Free
August 26th, 2017 is the Greenwood Community Band Festival! A full lineup of bands from around the state of Indiana will be traveling to play in the Greenwood Amphitheater. With hundreds of musicians gathering in Greenwood we can expect to hear excellent performances and meet fellow musicians. Bring your friends, family, and lawn chairs for a full day of music and festivities in Surina Park.
Hundreds of musicians from several other bands are flocking to our side of town to take part in an all day festival providing back-to-back entertainment. The Greenwood Amphitheater will come alive with the sound of thoroughly rehearsed concert band arrangements being played for audiences and bands alike. We reserved the Community Center next door to the stage.

Mass Band Guest Conductor: Herman Knoll
Herman Knoll is a legend in music education throughout Greenwood and beyond. Not only was he the Greenwood School Corporation's Band Director for several years, his illustrious career reflects tireless dedication to sharing a love of music through schools and community bands like GGCB. During the 1980's, Mr. Knoll became an investor and Vice President of the nation's leading music publisher, Hal Leonard Corporation. He recently retired from that position and continues to remain active in Bands of America and other non-profits committed to helping music educators, and improving the quality of music education programs. Now a resident of Wisconsin, we are honored to have Mr. Knoll paying Greenwood a much welcomed visit to swing the baton at our local event.
