Children’s Concert in Greenwood

Kids from 1 to 100 will enjoy this live concert in the park, featuring live performance of musical arrangements loved by kids and grownups alike. With fun, games, prizes, and the opportunity to play real musical instruments, this this annual concert is for fun for all ages!

Would your kids like to try to play a real musical instrument? Before and after the concert we have what we call a “petting zoo” where members of the Greater Greenwood Community Band put their old instruments on display to let kids actually try playing a variety of real band instruments. Kids from previous years used this as an opportunity to choose their musical pathway through school and even started taking lessons early as a result. Case in point: the author of the page you are reading now ended up getting a French horn and kids’ music lessons from Guitarworks of Greenwood for his 8 year old daughter as a result of her excitement after actually trying one. Since French horn is NOT easy, perhaps advanced skills that result from starting so early with an advanced instrument will result in earning a nice scholarship in the future. (Mom & Dad’s hopeful wishes shine through.)

This Childrens’ Concert begins at 7:00. The “instrument petting zoo” will be setting up at 6:00. Arrive early for plenty of time to play the instruments.

Bring your kids, grandkids, nephews, nieces and have them invite their friends! We are anticipating a crowd of 400 or more people for this show. You won’t want to miss this!

Pets are welcome. If you do bring your dog, be sure to keep them on a short leash, keep a close eye on them, and to bring a poop sack for necessary clean up!
